After more than twenty-five years in design, I’ve learned that the real value isn’t in making things look impressive. It’s in making them work. Good design removes friction, clarifies intent, and helps people move through a product naturally. The visual layer supports that. It doesn’t lead it. That balance has guided my work from day one.

Experience has taught me to stay focused on what matters. Tools evolve, trends shift, and processes change, but the fundamentals stay the same. Understand the problem, make solid decisions, and build systems that help teams move with confidence. I stay up to date on new ideas because they can improve the work, not because they’re fashionable.

For me, design always starts with people and context. When you understand the behaviour, constraints, and business realities behind a problem, you create work that performs and stands up over time. That’s where design earns trust, and it’s the space I work best in.
